Sandalwood comes from the wood of Australian and Indian sandalwood trees. Sandalwood has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicines and has since been embraced by the world for its unique attributes. The earthy scent of the wood itself can last for decades and is one of the most expensive woods in the world—even the roots are harvested to maximize profit. Sandalwood is commonly used in perfumes and colognes because of its rich aromatic properties.

4. Sleep – Sweet dreams! Sandalwood oil is 20% beta-santalol. When inhaled, this compound has a mild sedative effect and increases the rapid eye movement associated with dreaming. 

How to Use It?

Dilute in a carrier oil for a soothing massage. Add to a body wash, hair products, or moisturizers for a fragrance enhancer. Use in a diffuser or dilute in a water-filled spray bottle to refresh any room. Pairs well with jasmine, ylang-ylang, clove, sweet orange, rose, and rose geranium oil.

It takes approximately 50 pounds of sandalwood to produce 10 ml of pure SenseLAB Sandalwood Essential Oil.

Our superior-quality Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil is produced from the exquisitely fragrant heartwood of the Santalum album tree ethically harvested in the plantations of southern India. Produced by steam distillation, our magnificent Sandalwood Oil has a very deep, soft, sweet-woody aroma with a very long, full-bodied, balanced, extremely sweet, and creamy-smooth drydown. Our Indian Sandalwood Oil has the most 'woody' notes, along with the heavenly sweet tone expected out of high-quality Sandalwood Essential Oil.
