Plant and Oil Description

Best known for its use in all-natural insect repellents, pure citronella oil has a pleasing citrus and floral fragrance that is also commonly used for perfumes, cosmetics, room fresheners, and aromatherapy. The oil is harvested from the leaves and stems of a tall grass found in Indonesia. Citronella is closely related to lemongrass, and is most easily distinguished by its red stems.

What’s it Good For?

1. Insect repellent – Citronella’s reputation precedes itself when it comes to all-natural insect repellents. Make your own insect repellent using SenseLAB’s citronella oil, combine with other natural mosquito repellents—such as SenseLAB’s eucalyptus, lemongrass, rosemary, and tea tree oils—for maximum protection.
2. Weight loss – Laboratory studies suggest that citronella oil may help decrease appetite, lower cholesterol, and promote weight loss. How to Use It?
